Book Review: Learning about Emmanuel's Dream

emmanuels-dream-book-reviewA special part of the Born Just Right community is having the chance to learn about great people, events and even books. A publicist reached out to give us a chance to read Emmanuel’s Dream, The True Story of Emanuel Ofusu Yeboah.

The book is illustrated beautifully and tells the story of Emmanuel who was born with a differently formed leg. His mother encouraged and pushed him to go to school and learn even though he had more difficulties getting around than most kids. He overcame so many challenges and became a national symbol of perseverance in his country of Ghana.

I gave Jordan the chance to write her own book review.

I think Emmanuel is a great example for me. The story literally is saying you can do anything as long as you try. The story makes me feel strong even if your mom is sick. You do it for your family and that just makes me feel happy.

We love books that celebrate differences. This one is extra special because it shares the story of a real person. You can see details about Emmanuel and his non-profit, Emmanuel’s Dream Organization.

The book is available on Amazon and pretty much anywhere else where books are sold. If you can, try an independent bookstore (you find one near you at this link) or Barnes and Noble.
