We're Gonna Glow So Donations Grow!

It’s time to get serious, friends! A year ago, Jordan and I had raised at least $1,500 more at this point in the year for Camp No Limits. So far, I ran in the Chicago Rock n Roll Half Marathon to help make sure one child could attend camp. Well, now Jordan and Cameron are joining me helping with our goal of using running to help extra kids have camp fun!

On November 9th, the kids and I are running in a local 5K glow run. It means we’re going to wear a crazy amount of glow-in-the-dark bling and run for 3.1 miles in the dark. Jordan is able to knock out a mile or so pretty well during her school’s running club, I’m hoping we can walk and run our way to the finish line. Cameron has run a handful of 5K’s with me. I’m hoping he’s looking forward to running faster than his sister or I during the race!

What does this running talk mean to you? Well, we hope our hard work is reason for you to consider donating toward sending another child to Camp No Limits in 2014. Any donation can make a difference but when the kids and I cross the finish line in the dark on November 9th, I’m hoping we’ll have taken our donation total from $565 to $1,000. Along with knowing you did good, a friend who works at MTV has offered some cool swag from this year’s MTV movie awards. The highest donors will get cool MTV stuff and a Born Just Right t-shirt! You can donate to our Firstgiving site right here.

We have an overall goal of raising $3,000 in 2013. I don’t want to put too much pressure on everyone, but it would be amazing if we could send eight people to camp in time for Jordan’s 8th birthday on December 29th. That’s $4,000 and a whole thousand above our current goal. But I’m just saying I’d love to make that dream come true. Over the last two years of fundraising for camp, we’ve been able to match the number of kids attending camp to Jordan’s age. The older she gets, the harder it will be to reach that goal!

Let us know what kind of challenges you think Jordan and I should take to raise funds for camp. Don’t forget, we’re also challenging kids to save their allowance each week like Jordan is to donate what they’ve saved by Jordan’s December 29th birthday. Jordan will have saved $42 by then. She’s super proud of the savings she’s made so far.

Thanks again to everyone for your continued support of a very special summer camp for limb difference kids and their families!
