Comments Inside our American Girl Petition

Almost 5,000 signatures? Seriously? Our campaign is growing rapidly. I’m so proud to see so many people supporting the idea of offering a limb difference doll option at American Girl. We have yet to catch American Girl or Mattel’s attention. As I wrote at the start of this campaign, it’s going to take more than the not-quite 5,000 signatures gathered in the campaign that launched the new insulin pump accessory.

I launched this petition almost a week ago and the most amazing part is not the number of signatures we’re earning, it’s the comments: People who have a loved one with a limb difference, people who work with the special needs communities and some people who just care about the mainstream world looking more “real” than what we see in stores.

It’s really special. If you’re curious, you can read all of the comments on the Change.org petition. But here are some of my favorite:

I’m still collecting photos of our kids with their dolls. If you can email me: jen [at] bornjustright [dot] com or feel free to add your photo on this Born Just Right Facebook conversation. Thanks again to each person supporting our efforts! It’s so cool to see so many people care.
