Practicing for something special

I don’t attend a ton of weddings these days. Most of my friends are married or not married and they aren’t really in a getting married stage of life. We happen to have three wedding this summer which is three more than we usually attend. Add to this interesting experience, Jordan gets to be a flower girl. And today she proved that she loves it. Every little bit of it:
What I didn’t realize is I’m a bit of a mooshball when it comes to weddings. Watching the bride with her dad made me a little weepy. Watching all of the family pride made me feel warm and fuzzy. Knowing how proud my daughter was to be a part of this experience made me glow with pride.

Wanna know a secret? Her new shoes aren’t comfy. We knew this. So after today’s shoe wearing experience, I asked her if we need to find some last minute alternate options. Jordan won’t even consider it. She loves the shoes and is willing to push through. She is willing to fight the pain of style to look extra awesome at the wedding.

Who is this little girl? When did she choose style over comfort? Is she seriously my kid? (I wear flats. I wear sandals. I rarely wear heels. Rarely.)

Anyway. Jordan had her chance to practice for her first wedding of the summer with the ring bearer. She loved the experience. She was SO good. And I can’t wait for tomorrow.
