You can make an impact in limb difference research

Anyone can participate in a new limb difference survey!

This week, I am full of stories of dads who are contributing to the limb difference community. Today I wanted to give you the heads up about a research project that you may be able to help. There is an online survey that ends at the end of the week and I hope we can all jump in and help.

I met limb difference dad, Tyler Christman, at a Midwest Helping Hands picnic a few years ago while he was working on his residency in pediatric orthopedics. Now, he’s a doctor and working on research with the University of Michigan Department of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. The team is currently studying trends and perceptions regarding upper extremity prosthetics among individuals born with limb differences.

Who can do the survey? Anyone between the ages of zero to 89 years old with an upper extremity limb difference, their parents, their close friends and relatives. Basically, if you are close to someone with a limb difference, you can make an impact on this study.

These surveys close out at the end of the week. I know that is short notice and I’m totally to blame. The combination of illness and stolen photos got me off track in sharing this research.
