Three princess stories

There aren’t that many opportunities to grab your princess dress and watch three full classic stories of Disney favorites in our town… But that’s exactly what we got to do today.

Jordan, her brother, her uncle and I headed to our nearby arena to watch Disney Live! presents Three Classic Fairy Tales. Uncle Jon brought Jordan a flower for the show… And she was very excited about that.

There was a sweet and awesome moment that I have to talk about before I go into the show. Uncle Jon was coming in after us so we had to wait outside. Jordan was playing around near a tree when a little girl and her grandma walked up. The grandma asked me if the little girl could ask Jordan a question. I immediately assumed she was going to ask Jordan about her little arm. So I ask Jordan to come over and see if she can help answer the girl’s question. Jordan stops what she was doing and walked over. The little girl asked Jordan which princess she was dressed like. Jordan said she was dressed like Cinderella and the little girl was super excited because that’s who she was dressed up like as well. No questions about the arm. They just had a chance to talk about princess stuff. That is so cool.

Since we got to the show early, I decided to splurge a little. I bought each kid a lemonade and cotton candy. It was just the right bit of excitement to build up to the show. The event also sells a number of princess toys and glowy wands and orbs to enjoy before, during and after the show.

What I didn’t know about the cotton candy until the end of the pile of sugar? It actually included a small wet wipe to clean up those messy hands. I really appreciated that.

The show lets Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck and Goofy introduce three well known Disney fairy tales: Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. The show gives each story a really thorough stage experience from the movies. The characters lip sync the dialogue and music from the movies. I know my kids really loved it, but I did see some kids feeling overwhelmed by the volume. The show was loud. I actually saw a baby cover his own ears during the show.

I asked Jordan what she liked about the show. She said it was awesome because she got to see her favorite princess stories. I think a lot of kids who were at the show felt the same way. We left feeling happy and both kids asked if we could watch Cinderella at home sometime soon.
