Snow day fun
It snowed last night and that means two very happy kids in our household. I woke up with a little girl begging to get her boots on and head out into the snow. So that’s just what both kids did. Jordan and her brother jumped in and ran around in the cold snow and didn’t mind the brisk wind that makes it pretty uncomfortable out there.
Best moment today: Both kids jumped in and enjoyed creating a bunch of snow angels. Giggles, laughter and little arm angels. I love it.

I love your site. It inspires me! My son lost both of his feet in April 2009 due to an electrical burn. He’s finally getting fitted for his left prosthetic and hopefull will be out of that wheelchair and walking in a few months. Keep the stories and pics coming!
I’m jealous once again. Ashlyn and I woke up to snow on the round, but much less than an inch. She begged me to go outside to make a snow angel, but the windchill caused it to never feel more than 10 degrees outside and she’s already got a stuffy head, so we never got to venture outside. 🙁 Maybe next time we get snow, it will be worthwhile and not just bitter cold with a teeny bit of snow that’s good for nothing. 🙂

Just found your blog and love it! I was born with the same limb difference as Jordan–above the elbow left arm congenital amputee. I now am an artist and am trying to write a picture book (and illustrate it too) about a girl who has one hand. I do not wear a prosthesis except while bike riding. However, I am interested in getting one now that I’m grown-up and want to “blend in” more. I get asked a lot about it because I have a very public job. I reply with exactly what my Mom always told me to say “that’s how I was born” [no birth defects here:)] Way to go Jordan for being a normal, perfect, awesome, confident kid (and you for being her Mom!)
Dana! It’s wonderful to meet you. Jordan doesn’t use her helper arm much – but she LOVES it for bike riding and helper her do fun things with a soccer ball. I hope you drop by here and offer any and all insight you can share. Good luck with the prosthetic process!
