American Girl: Check Out Our Dolls

Showing off her dollWe just hit 2,000 signatures in our petition to American Girl! We have to keep going for the company to hear our request to include a limb difference option with its Truly Me dolls.

Jordan and I are really excited to share how Yahoo Health reported about our petition. How cool is that?

To keep the word traveling, let’s do something cool. Let’s collect photos of our kids with their American Girl dolls. Here’s Jordan’s picture of her with one of her favorites. Send me a photo by emailing us at jen [at] bornjustright [dot] com or leave a comment on our Facebook page! I’ll collect our photos and put together a little video to share how all our kids are beautiful and hopeful American Girl will make a change!

When I was young I worked at a “doll hospital”. We corrected many a broken dolls limbs and even heads…fixed favorite teddy bears and so forth…With the new 3-D printers I think you may have a way to create your desired arm……also look up artists that work in “plastics/rubber”; perhaps there is an artist that could take up this work. If they had three or four arms from American dolls I bet they could augment the arm quite easily. Thy may need the extra’s for practice runs.
