A Special Visit to Orlando

Jordan SmilesJordan and I are on our way to one of my favorite places in the world: Walt Disney World! We’re taking part in some very special things this weekend and I can’t wait to share all of the details.

One detail I can share right now is our chance to attend the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony. The games are an Olympics-style event for wounded members of the military from around the world. Jordan and I were mystified by the first event when it was held in London. This time, competitors are traveling to ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando. Even cooler? At least two of Jordan’s coaches from her time at the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Kids Camp are competing! I’m really excited she’ll get to see them again.

In recent years, Jordan has had incredible opportunities. For some reason, it feels like this year is a crescendo of activities. This week’s trip seems to put all of Jordan’s amazing activities and positive outlook into one event. I’m honored so many people have recognized Jordan for her strength and confidence. I’m lucky to be her mom. (She isn’t perfect, you guys. She’s stubborn, she doesn’t always listen, she’s quick to get angry. But still, I’m proud.) I can’t wait to share more details tomorrow night.

    Wow!

    What an Invictus connection!

And I think Prince Harry was there.

He was there! We saw him speak during the opening ceremonies.
