A Disney On Ice-Inspired Elsa

disney-on-ice-elsa-annaNot to outdo our big #DisneySide party last weekend, Jordan and I also traversed through messy post-snow highways to see one of the final St. Louis showings of Frozen Disney on Ice. As I’ve mentioned before, Jordan has realized a connection with Elsa. In the movie, the snow queen’s frozen powers lead her to hide from the public eye but eventually realizes just being herself makes her life (and her kingdom) a better experience. Jordan is proud to be openly different and I think that makes her forever connected to Elsa.

As a special experience, we traveled to the show with Jordan’s Elsa dress ready to show off her full #DisneySide. The performances didn’t disappoint. Disney’s Frozen has always seemed perfect for a live performance, and the ice show proved it. We had a really great view of the characters. Jordan made sure to wave hi to everyone when she could and of course, we both sang as loud as we could to our favorite songs. And we got to see Olaf! We love Olaf.

But Jordan wasn’t finished with celebrating Elsa just yet. Thanks to our snow storm, we had a chance to take a few pictures of Jordan out in the show with her beautiful dress. The snow didn’t bother her any way… for at least 10 minutes or so! I love capturing Jordan’s pride and strength when she dresses up like Elsa. The shiny, gorgeous dress is worth it a hundred times over when she has a reason to get that confidence in her eyes.

Jordan tells me most of her friends don’t like Frozen anymore. But she isn’t embarrassed to like the movie so much. I asked her why she’s stayed with it even if it isn’t a socially cool thing to like. Jordan says it makes her happy and she doesn’t really care. Maybe that’s why the kids don’t harass her about it. Either way, I love her love of girl power.

We are big Frozen fans here too. Part of Jordan’s nub looks very red. Is it always like that or was it hurt?

@Laurie – It’s actually neon nail polish Jordan painted on her tiny nub. It really stands out!

How cute and creative! I would have never had the guts to make my little arm stand out ever more at her age.

The cold never bothered me anyway.
